Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs for dogs.
Medical indications:
Partial or total paralysis of the hind or front limbs
Caused by spinal cord injuries, accidents, or neurological diseases.
Herniated disc (Intervertebral disc disease - IVDD)
Common in breeds like the Dachshund, the chair helps maintain mobility during recovery or when surgery isn't an option.
Severe hip dysplasia or advanced osteoarthritis
When there is severe pain or weakness that prevents the dog from walking on its own.
Myopathies or degenerative muscle diseases
Like muscular dystrophy, which affects strength in the legs.
Cauda equina syndrome or lumbosacral stenosis
Where there is nerve compression that affects the mobility of the hind legs.
Amputations
In cases of loss of one or more limbs, the chair can provide stability and improve quality of life.
Postoperative recovery
In orthopedic or neurological surgeries, a wheelchair can facilitate mobility without compromising recovery.
Traumas due to accidents (fractures, dislocations)
While the dog recovers or if there are permanent mobility issues.
